The hike starts 4.8 km from Pollenca towards Lluc Abbey. At the crossroads, follow Camí Vell de Pollenca (GR221), Mallorca's most important hiking trail. First, the trail leads through an agricultural area with almond, fig, orange and lemon trees. Nestled in the Tramuntana Mountains, the route runs through pine and oak forests. After 2.5 km, a steep climb begins on dirt roads, some of which were built by Romans and Arabs. Along the way, there are old charcoal burners and the Binifaldo Refugi, which invites you to take a break. The trail continues across Coll de Predegaret (658 m) towards Refugi de Son Amer. A trip to Mirador del Centenari del Foment offers spectacular views of the Lluc monastery. After crossing the main road that connects Pollenca with Coll de sa Batalla, you reach Refugi Son Amer at 530 m, where you can take another break. From there, it is just 1.2 km to Lluc Monastery. The descent is via an impressive stone path. The Santuari de Lluc, the most important pilgrimage site in Mallorca, is a spiritual center and well worth a visit. A visit to a restaurant and the bus ride back to Pollenca round off the hike.
